Agressive Male Molly

Hi, New to the forum, I have a question on Mollies, I have 3 Mollies 2 male(1 dalmation, 1 golden) and 1 female silver molly. Up until this past 2 weeks there were also 2 (female )cherry barbs and 2 white tip tetras (not sure of sex) in the tank. The Dalmation molly bullied them to death 1 by 1 and then the 2 other mollies fought over 1 of the barbs body before I could get it out of the tank. Also I have lost 2 sucker fish since adding the mollies, no bodies to be found. When I do watch them the dalmation molly seems to definitely be the dominate fish in the tank!

My question is ....is it normal for mollies to be aggressive, and if so what can I add to the tank so that I have more than 3 mollies?

I also have acquired a 30 gallon tank which came with a plicasimus, what kind of fish can I add to this tank??

Thanks

Mollies can be real meanies. Not all of them; it's a lot like people with them. I've had a total of four so far, and while most of them were nice, one is a real...um...you get it. Never could settle her down. Now she lives with my green spotted puffer, a rather aggressive species, and they get along fine. She still goes after anyone else I try to add. :/

You mean a plecostomus. If it's a common pleco, you can't really add anything; in fact, it needs to go. They get to two feet long and put a real load on your system. They are not suitable for that size tank. Now, if it's something like a rubberlip...well...post a photo and we'll let you know what it is.

I had the same problem with tetras, if the tank is too small the fish will get aggressive towards each other. Are they all in a 10 gallon?

the mollies and tetras and barbs were, but now the 10 gal only has 3 mollies and 1 white tip tetra left. My 30 gal only has the plecostomus. The 30 gal had a African chiclid in it with the plecostumus but the chiclid died 5 days after we acquired it and transfered it from my frieds house to our house.

how do I post pics from my phone to the website.

could I transport the mollies to the 30 gal??

Yes, but you'll need to check the water first. If it reads any ammonia, any nitrite or more than, say, 20 nitrate you'll need to deal with that before moving them.

]ok so we have decided to put a copule more mollies in the 10 gallon and make it a molly tank, and my son really wants angelfish in the 30 gal. Any suggestions on what type of angel fish, and how many? Thanks, and I will try to get pics uploaded, once I figure it out lol
