Aggressive red claw crabs?

We have a species only 10 gallon for adf's and a 40 gallon with swordtails, black skirt tetras, mollies, platies, and one Bavarian RAM and an albino bristlenose pleco. We were going to put it in the frog tank but the person at Petco said not to because it would eat the frogs and then we read something online saying that someone else's crab ate their blue gourami and a dalmation Molly. Are our fish in danger? If so we also have a 1 gallon bowl, would she be able to live in there?

Yes, they will eat fish. I'd return it. I believe they also need brackish water.

I have two. They can be very aggressive, even toward each other sometimes. But I wouldn't return it. They do need brackish water, which can be achieved with a little bit of salt in their water. They're really pretty low maintenance for the most part. They just want to hide and eat. Make sure you feed them well and I wouldn't handle them often. They're skittish and can stress them out. Keep the humidity high and they're cute little sweeties to have around.

Brackish water probably won't be OK for all of the fish the OP has, though. And you also need to use marine salt to get brackish water, normal aquarium salt won't work to create real brackish water.
This thread is from November, I doubt the OP will see it, too.

the crab is very beautiful!

Anders, do you keep crabs?

I won't think they will eat the fish but hurt them...

No, I don't, but when I was a newbie I did a lot of research on them because I was considering one. I have read numerous stories of red claw crabs eating fish.
