Aggressive Male

I have a group of 6 platies in my 20 gallon tank, two male, four female, although one of my females is only a couple of months old. My male Mickey Mouse platy is so aggressive twords my male painted platy to the point where the painted is always clamped and can’t come out from hiding with out being chased back by the other male!
What should I do? Should I add more females?
I also have a dwarf gourami and am going to add 6 cories on Saturday. I don’t want to give up my Mickey Mouse, even though he is a bully, but I will if it’s the only option.

When it comes to aggressive fish, sometimes no matter how many females or how heavily decorated the tank is that one fish will still cause problems. I've re-homed bully fish when it comes to the lives of their tank mates.

I'd not add more females as the tank is very near full stocking levels, especially when you add the corries. Plus you will end up with fry, live bearers are always having fry. One of the reasons I prefer not to keep live bearers anymore.

Side note, if you are adding the corries to the tank in your profile with rainbow gravel, keep in mind that gravel isn't good for corries. They are tailored to sifting through sand and if the substrate is too rough their barbels and even their bellies and fins get damaged.

No, that picture is from before I upgraded to a 20, I was sure to have sand because I knew I wanted cories!
So do you think my best option is to find him a new home?

If you've tried rearranging the decor and it still hasn't worked, then yes rehome either him or the other male. You have the minimum ratio as it is at 2f/1m. It is always better to have many more females than males rather than just the minimum.

I haven’t tried changing the decor yet, but I also JUST moved everyone over from my 10 yesterday.
So maybe I’ll give that a try!
