Aggressive Guppies And Shrimps

Hello. First of I have a small aquarium ( 20L) so I knew from the start that I can not have much fish. I went to the store to talk to the person who was in charge of fish and she informed I I could have 5 guppies, 4 shrimps and one snail in aquarium my size. But not all guppies. They have separeted big guppies and small guppies (no idea why, but she told me I can only have fish from specific section - small section). So that is what I did. I started small, 3 fish 2 shrimp. Sadly shrimps did not make it. After a month I went back bought 1 fish 2 shrimps, 1 snail. Fish was sick and it infected my whole aquarium. In few days I lost all my fish. And one shrimp. After one month I went back. Got three fishes, two shrimps. Shrimps dissapeared. After a month I went back. Two fishes another two shrimps. I went on 3 day vacation and thought all will be well since its only 2 nights. I came back to find two fishes dead and only one shrimp (second generation, he is now as big as my guppy). I thought it was my fault. That I left them without food for three days... I felt so bad. So I went and bought 2 more guppies. No more shrimps. And... guppies all but 1 died in next days. I realised it was my guppy who got aggresive and killed others... so... I bought two females. To try and save my aquarium. But now I don't know what to do. They will breed probably? I do not want baby guppies. I just want to have nice aquarium to look at. I made sure its planted nicely (live and fake), so that it is a good enviorment. But Shrimps keep dissapearing. Guppies keep dying. I do not know what to do. Will it be ok now? One male two big female? Please tell me I will not find more bodies... I just... Want to do it right.

Oh my shrimp were all red cherry shrimp

20L is 4g? I would have three males and 0 female guppies. What are the parameters? How big were the shrimp?

20 liters is 5 gallons, you cannot have any mixed gender guppies in that tank. Also, guppies will eat shrimp regardless of how much food you give them. The smaller guppies are just younger ones, and will get bigger. Guppies are also aggressive breeders, you need 3 females to a male or the male sorta just mates with the female till it dies. Cherry shrimp do not get as big as guppies, but only about 2 cms long at most. Is your tank cycled, what are the parameters, and what kind of snail is it? If it's a mystery or apple snail, it may be too big for that tank. You could keep the tank as a shrimp tank or possibly get a single betta (fighting fish). Are you treating the water you use for the tank, and what with? All these will affect how your fish survive. Are there heaters, filters, a thermometer? It sounds like the pet store ripped you off and gave you bad advice, this is sadly normal behaviour on their part...

I tried three males and my blue guppy killed them. He was the only one left. Twice. I hope with females he will calm down.

Parameters seems fine. All normal. I make sure of that.

When I bought them they were tiny. Maybe one cm. Now the only one that is left is the size of a guppy...

20 litres

Well my guppy is quite smaller than the one I saw in store in big section. And I guess he is an adult now since they were fighting for teritory... I mean females are still quite bigger than him. But they were in small section too.

My tank has a good filter (three part), with a heater and thermomether. I test it once per month but I never had any problem. Every time I change water I put in a little for bacterias and to treat it for chlorine. I also put sth for my live plants every two weeks.

Oh about my snail I think its a nerite snail. It just cleans my glasss. He is perfect. I do have infestations of small snail... But I bait them with salad and take them out of aquarium. That problem I could solve. Infestation... so many small snails. Nerite leaves eggs, but they don't hatch. That's why the store said it was perfect.

I wouldn't keep guppies and RCS together as the guppies will devour all the shrimp fry. This tank would be best as a shrimp only tank, depending on what kind of filter you have on it. Could you post a picture? That would help.

5 gallons might work for Endlers if you have any openings in the lid covered with mesh.

If you have 1 dominant male left, I wouldn't add any more guppies at this point.

The only other fish that might work in this is 1 Betta or 1 pea puffer.

So about two females that I got. Should I return them? What do I do with one lonely guppy? Wait until he ides of old age? Before starting new?

I can't take a picture right now but it's made of three parts. White mesh, blue weirder mesh and last part is filled with little balls where bacteria live. Or so I have been told. I can post a pic later.

I looked at the endler... I think I have that. My guppy is guppy male endler. The breed. I just assumed its a guppy. I did not know it was a different breed. But in the store it said Guppy male endler. Same with females. Does that make a change?

This t'is the photo that I took when I introduced females to male.

So this morning my little guppy was in hiding from females. In little house that I bought. Did I make a mistake? Do females become aggresive? Will they calm down or should I return the females? If I want to return them I can only do so today and I can't do it after, they don't take the fish back after more than a day.
