Aggressive endlers?

Hi. I have a questions about endlers. I have a 20 g tank in which I have the following fish:

4 endlers (all male)
5 ember tetras
3 glow light tetras

I just added six fancy male guppies, and the endlers will not leave them alone. I tried adding a new endler last week, but he died after only three days due, I believe, to the existing endlers bugging him.

Is this normal behavior for them? Are they being curious or territorial? Will they relax over time? I've never had any of these fish before, and I really want a peaceful tank.

Livebearer can be aggressive. I've bred guppies for 3 years and you do get aggressive males and females. Males particularly create a hierarchy where there is a dominant male or sometimes you have a couple and they will challenge each other and duel.

Is this a 20 gallon long or high? The ember tetras and glowlight tetras should be in a group of 6+, I suggest you up them however, the best thing would to rehome one of the school and then up the number of the other shoal to 8.

Nope, there really isn't anyway for them to get along since it is their personalities. Some want to be dominant and others are just submissive. Are you rehoming one of the schools and upping the other?

I'm still planning on adding green neons. Which group will get along with them? Endlers or guppies?

 

Your adding another school of fish? You already have 2! In a 20 gallon you really should only have 1 but since these are a bit smaller you can do 2 but not 3!
