Aggressive Amano Shrimp Question

Hi guys. Went to my local fish store today. It's not a bad store. They had a group of new German Blue Rams being acclimated. They were a good size. Not babies by any means. They were in a tank with a group of Amano Shrimp. One of the Rams looked sick. Was sill alive but couldn't swim properly or fight back and was being constantly attacked by two Amano's. They were nipping it's tail, fins and body really aggressively. The other Amano's weren't interested though. Is it normal for Amano's to attack sick fish?

I've heard that amanos if hungry enough can be aggresive towards fish.

That makes sense, especially being in a fish store. Not ideal environments by any means. Just made me think twice about Amano's when I saw this. Was thinking about them for an upcoming tank as everything I've heard about them is they are peaceful. These two looked evil though

Yes my Amanos would try to take off with a ailing fish also but only if it is floundering on the bottom though. They are great scavengers. I rarely see dead fish bodies.

Exactly what I saw. The Ram floundering on the bottom, unable to swim away or defend itself. Thanks for confirming

Some big old ones turn predator. Mine ate all my bladder and ramshorn snails and probably has grabbed the odd fry.
