African Dwarf Frog With Betta

Hi, I was wondering maybe if I can fit a african dwarf frog with my betta, it would be a good upgrade for Oswald, I don't think I would be over stocking, I just have 1 betta in my 5.5g aquarium, would that be alright? I don't know about my bettas aggression with other things, is there a way I could test him with my frog, and see what he does. If he gets rude I can remove with no damage caused?

I would only keep ADF in species only tanks. They have bad eyesight and will not be able to compete against the betta for food.

Sometimes it works, often it doesn't.
Bettas may nip at the frogs and in most cases will get to the food faster than the frog. Even if you hand feed the frogs or put the food in a certain place for the frogs, bettas catch on quickly.
ADF have very bad eyesight and may take a chunk out of the betta's fins.

You will need to get 2. They are social and should not be kept alone but 2 is the maximum you could have in a 5.5.

Regardless if it works or not, a 5 gallon tank is minimum for a single dwarf frog. I would recommend against it. They honestly do better in separate tanks.

And I know you're thinking 5 gallons is a bit much for a little frog, but they're very very active and they need their own space. Having a betta fish with one would just stress the frog out, and probably provoke the betta to nip. Both need to breath air at the surface of the water, so it's hard for them to get away from one another.

I wouldn't say about that big, I would say about 2.5g for 1 frog. So I would say 2 frogs in a 5g, but alone.

2.5 is absolute bare minimum and is less than ideal for one frog.
