African Dwarf Frog question.

Yeah, I have two AFDs, and today one just got on top of the other, and clinged to it. Then he started swimming around a bit on top of what I now think is a female AFD, and my Female AFD's arms started to twitch, then he swam into a fake plant, and her legs almost got crisscrossed. Then, he finally let go of her. They're of two different sizes BTW, he's short and fat, she tall and skinny, I need the answer kind of soonish, because my mom thought he was trying to kill her, and yes I checked, they're definitely African Dwarf Frogs. So I'm kind of worried about them, and I think they might have been mating, but it's summer, so I'm not sure :-\

Yes, that is mating, and totally natural.

Must mean you have happy healthy frogs

Okay, but when should she lay her eggs(Oh, and my dad doesn't like Tripod, so he blocked the website)?

Both of them are just sitting on top of the heater, while a bit of the female's skin is coming off...

There is another site about the frogs, not on tripod this time.

THose frogs shed their skin every 1-2 weeks, so that is natural, too.

The Male and female apparently swim around locked together for a while, they stay together and don't move at all for a while after that. I am not sure about finding the eggs. Doing searches on google for african dwarf frogs will likely get you more detailed information

Okay, thanks

Also, a little off topic, but do they ever stop shedding completely?

Nope, they will shed their skin every couple of weeks their entire lives.

What I find weird is when they eat their shed skin!!!! I love to watch them molt. BTW, did you ever figure out why the last ADF died? As far as mating, I have heard it is difficult to get the eggs/tadpoles to mature, but good luck. I don't know what information you are looking for, but this one has some good basics for ADFs......

Good Luck!
