how long have you had the aquarium?

using a net won't work for any longer than the time the net is in the aquarium. for sure remove one of the two if you can. how long have you had the aquarium?

I had the aquarium for about a month but I got the frog yesterday
And if I move the frog to my 5 gal with a betta in it will it be ok? I don’t wanna get rid of the frog if I absolutl don’t have to

Are you sure its not an clawed frog? they look almost the same, but the clawed frog will eat your fish and will grow much larger. If the front feet are webbed, it's a clawed frog and should not be kept with fish that you dont want to be eaten.
If its an african dwarf frog, it should be kept in a group of at least 3. In a bare minimum of a ten gallon tank.

Im sorry but a 5 gallon with a betta is not a proper home for either species of frog.

I thought it was the other way around with the front feet but it has front webbed feet.oops and I’m setting up a 10 gallon now actually to give my betta and shrimp more room of course it has to cycle first
google says if it has front webbed feet then it’s an African dwarf (who knows if that’s right)

OMG SORRY!! You are right, I messed it up , clawed frogs do not have webbed front feet, duh,
clawed frogs = clawed hands, clawed frogs =clawed hands, clawed = frogs, clawed = hands...

It's not unusual for ADF (who does in fact, have 4 webbd feet) to go after a betta tail especially during feeding time.
They often lunge at something they perceive to be food because it is
A) Moving
B) Smells like food

They should be separated. Tears in a beta tail can lead to infection. The betta could also get tired of it and turn on the frog.

I separated them the frogs in a bowl until I can return it in 2 days (yes it’s cycled its 3.5 gal but it’s all I can do for now)

Sounds wise.
The3.5 is fine, glad to hear it cycled. I'm assuming it has a small filter? Be careful if there isn't a lid, ADF's have been known to escape

Almost a decade ago, I had 2 dwarf frogs with a betta in a 10 gallon and had the same issue. The only real fix is to remove either the betta or the frog. You could get a much larger tank so they encounter each other less, but thats just unnecessary and it would be much easier to simply move/get rid of one.

Ya it has a mini sponge filter and I’m using a dinner plate as a lid lol

I'd suggest a paper plate with small holes poked through.
African dwarf frogs need to breath air. A dinner plate covering the top of the bowl won't allow fresh air in.
