I have a 135 malawi tank, it's a mix of mbuna, peacocks and haps so I would estimate the average size per fish to be 6 or 7 inches.

So how many fish would be a good number to keep in order to keep aggression down but also not have to do an insane amount of water changes?

I keep approx. forty Afican Cichlids & five Botia Loaches in a 120 long. The tank looks busy but not cramped.
A 50% WC each week keeps things colorful & healthy.

Would you say the average size is roughly 6 or 7 inches? I'm fine with 50% water changes a week and I'm currently building myself a sump and overflow of 2600 GPH so the filtration is about to be overkill.

The Fusco & Borleyi are close to seven inches. The rest average four to five inches.
The new sump should be a good addition.
