African Butterflyfish? Brackish?

Hello peeps it’s been a very long time since I have logged in but I would really appreciate an answer from someone with experience with African Butterfly Fish.
It’s a very quick question: are African Butterfly fish brackish? It came up at my local, small town, Petco. Please don’t yell at me we don’t have any actually local fish stores nearby. It’s either Petco or Petsmart.
I was browsing the fish cause why not and I found African Butterflyfish. Out of curiosity I asked an employee for some info on about them. According to him (I know I know Petco employees aren’t the most reliable source of info) he owns multiple African Butterflies and that they thrive in brackish water. He said to keep them at a salinity of 1.01 I think. Is this true?

Sorry another question is it safe to use aquarium salt with them?
Why use aquarium salt? I've seen it used with them but I wouldn't personally. They need a tight lid as well. Note that very well if you go for them.
