Advice On Centerpiece/oddball Fish For A 55 Gal Community Tank

Hello all, I recently have begun setting up a 55 Gallon Tank. I intend for it to be a planted tank, I have a Fluval 407 with the spraybar, an E200 Heater, and the Fluval Plant 3.0 for lighting. I intend on stocking initially with decent sized schools of both cardinal tetras and panda corys, as well as cherry shrimp. I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on some interesting one-off fish that would be able to coexist in said tank and be eye-catchers at the same time. Thank you!

Well the shrimp are gonna limit you as a lot of the larger “one-off” ornamentals will think of them as tasty snacks, the only thing that jumps to mind off the bat is an African Butterfly Fish, not colorful, but very cool. Definitely google the heck out of the compatibility of anything you consider for “that fish” with cherry shrimps

Welcome to fishlore!
Are you looking for a small fish? Anything big will eat the cherry shrimp.
