ADF have not eaten and hiding

I just got 3 ADFs (I think 2 male, 1 female but not positive) and I have a couple questions. It's a 10 gallon tank and they are the only things in there.

1. They haven't eaten at all yet. Is it just bc they aren't totally adjusted yet or should I try to do something special for them?
2. They really don't come out at all yet, they just hide under rocks and terra cotta pots. Is this normal since they're new to the tank?

Thanks guys, you're the best!

What are you feeding them? Are you putting the food right in front of them.

When I got mine they just hid all day for a day, then started getting comfortable. I also rearranged the tank and they liked it A LOT more!

Most creatures are shy when they enter a new tank. They will get used to it and start venturing out once they figure out nothing bad is happening. The same thing goes for food. They will come out and eat once they get adjusted.

I have TopFin frog & tadpole bites as suggested by Akari. And I haven't put it in front of them bc they hide so I don't exactly know where they are lol so I just put it in the middle of tank. I've thought about rearranging but there's not much room or different stuff I can do right now.

ADfs are not aggressive eaters. Alot of them won't actively seek out food unless you put it right in front of them. Also, my ADfs refuse to eat the pellets, so I feed them frozen bloodworms.

You may also try garlic soaked blood worms.

At any rate, my females are extremely aggressive hunters. Who ever thought that up must have never seen them eat in groups! They go after anything that gets too close, even each other, and the betta. They just need time, that's all. If you've got gravel, I would suggest a terra cotta plate to feed them on, so that their food doesn't get lost in the gravel. Other wise, just put the food in the same place, the same time every day. They'll figure out eventually.

I keep adf's and I have found mine are greedy but not to great with actually seeing food, try feeding them by placing food right in front of them, they can be shy but the smell of food will coax them out if it is right in front of them, also adf's really should have some bloodworm every few days as part of their diet, mine have got so use to tweeser feeding that they now chase the tweasers even when there is no food in them and I am picking bits of plant from the tank, I even have a small male who will sit on my finger tip to eat from my hand

My girls will actively hunt out their food. As soon as they hear the feeding door on the hood close, they both come out and starting looking for food. They'll also let me know they are hungry by pacing along the front of the tank.

Mt male, well, he's a different story. He wants to make babies, rather than eat

thanks guys! I'm gonna try to put the food right in front of their faces tonight and see if they'll eat it. And I've had them for 3 days now, so I'm not worried about them starving yet, I just wanna be careful and make sure they're ok.
