Adf Enrichment?

Hello! I recently got an African Dwarf Frog <3 for the time being he's by himself because he's REALLY tiny! All the other frogs that were in with him were nearly twice his size, and I was worried he might get eaten :'D right now I have him set up in a cycled, heated 2.5g tank with a sponge filter, which I know is a little small, but he's so tiny I feel like I would lose him in a bigger tank xD I have plans to move him up to a 5 gallon if he grows and does well with me <3 he might also get a friend!

Since he's alone, though, I wondered if there was any sort of enrichment that ADFs enjoyed? Right now I just have a fake log (with plenty of exits so he doesn't get stuck) and a live plant. He swims around and seems to be enjoying his tank for the moment, and I have plans to get more plants for him to hang out in once he's bigger and I can't lose him as easily c: but there's not a whole lot to do? I know about some fun enrichment things for Bettas but I didn't know if there was anything similar frogs enjoyed? Any ideas are appreciated <3 I want him to be happy and healthy ;u;

Also his name is Frodo Froggins xD he's a cute Lil guy

They like plants but mostly they are happiest with other ADF. I doubt other frogs would eat him. I have a couple left in my tank, at one point I had 4 of them in there, all different sizes and never had any issues. The tank you have is ok for 1 frog. I believe the rule of thumb I have seen is 1 frog per 2.5 gallons. I don't know how accurate that is, but it never hurts to go bigger anyway. If you don't have a lid, you will want one, they like to escape and don't last long outside the water.

Thank you for the reply! I definitely have a lid, I tried to do my research before I brought him home c: I'll try to add some more plants for him to enjoy. I'm mostly just paranoid, I had a bit of a traumatic experience when I was younger where one of my frogs ate the smaller one :'D it could've been because they were in too small of a tank without enough hiding places tho (this was when I was in elementary/middle school and we had no idea about proper tank sizes, etc)

Definitely plans to move him up to a bigger tank! And a friend once he's grown a little, for my peace of mind :'D

He might even sing when he has some buddies too. The first time I heard my ADF do it, it was freaky. I couldn't figure out what was making the noise, didn't know when we first got them that they could do that. They are fun little pets.

I'd love to hear him sing! My first frog I had, Hop, was really cute and quirky, and lived a surprisingly long 7 years despite my parents lack of knowledge on how to care for him o: I hope I have Frodo for a long while, and I'd love to get him a buddy named Sam to satisfy my LotR heart LOL

To keep my frogs active and entertained I'll sometimes feed the Reptomin floating food sticks (broken into smaller bits). They enjoy going after them and some will float the surface with their mouths open. It's very funny to watch.

If you should get more frogs and a bigger tank, you'll notice they're more active, often engaging in this activity.

That sounds like a fun idea! I'll try that and see if he likes it c: he floats around at the top occasionally, and seems to enjoy swimming up and down, so that'd be something he might be interested in~ thank you!
