I don't know much about combining the two, all I know is my grandma keeps discus and they are more upkeep than regular tanks, but I am not sure why - touchier fish perhaps? Hopefully someone can come along who can help you out though!

Discus are a bit big for a 30g. I wouldn't put them in there when they are adult. If they are juvenile, you can keep them in there for some time but once they bet close to adulthood then you will have to move them.

I don't think there will be any problems between the discus and kuhli loaches. Discus are very peacful fish, even when breeding.

I am assuming those are the only 2 fish species in you stocking plan? Kuhli loaches can be kept in tanks as small as 10 gallons, but I'd say 45-55 gallons is the minimum for discus. You could keep 2-3 discus in a 55 gallon.

Yes only Kuhli Loaches and discuss because the space as you see so 45 g for 3 loaches and 2 discus.

You can add more kuhli loaches if you want though. You could probably have at least 10, regardless of tank size and how many discus you have.

Kuhlis could be kept with discus. I’ve never done it but they are compatible. And the kuhlis are great scavengers so would help on clean up. Thing with discus is they are cichlids and when big enough May try to eat the kuhlis. Discus will need new water from daily to 3 times a week. All according to the start size. Discus are best with about 6. But I’ve seen many who’ve done it with less. I would get a minimum of 55 to 75g tank.
