Adding a powerhead to external filter intake?

Just wondering if I could add a 650LPH powerhead to the intake of my eheim ecco pro 130 and turn off my eheim so that the powerhead is doing all the work? Thanks.

It were just to increase the flow of the filter, but I tried it and it appears that the powerhead doesn't have enough power to make any noticeable difference. So instead, I'm just going to run the power head in the tank.

 

If you want the extra bit of filtration added, there is a filter made for the powerhead.
