add another pearl gourami?

I have had 1 male and one female pearl in my 56 gal tank for a little over a week now. they both seem to be settling in and are not too shy anymore, how ever the male seems to pick on the female quite a bit ( nothing like when I had multiple angels so I am not as worried ). I am wondering if it is just pairing behavior or if I should add another female to disperse the aggression.

also have 1 angel, BN pleco, 7 kuhlies

Is it a little chasing here and there or is it nonstop? My male pearl will chase my female from time to time but it's never anything bad and they get along quite well most of the time. He may or may not leave her alone but you can definitely add another female so she's not so stressed.

some chasing and he kinda "mouths" her side, I don't know that I would call it biting tho. I will keep an eye on it and see how it looks

Sounds like it could be spawning behavior but if the female is not ready or is refusing his advances, he either may give up or get more aggressive so definitely keep a close eye.

They might do better if there were floating plants in there for them to hide in and give them some cover, either real or fake. Alison
