Would a 200W heater be overkill for this tank?

Slightly, a 150 would suffice. But if you have a 200 at hand, take it.

My LFS has both, but the 200W is a brand that I know and trust (ViaAqua) and is cheaper than the 150W lol

UPDATE:
Today I got 4 nerites for the tank. There are 2 larger ones (1 Zebra and 1 Olive) and 2 small ones (1 Tiger and 1 Zebra). jake37 I am putting the tiger in a breeder box so he doesn't get to the zebras . I also got a heater for the tank to keep it at a good temperature for all of the fish.
They seem to be enjoying each other lol

I think you should name one of the zebras Grevy and the olive Kalamata lol

If you go with Tigger you could stay in the Winnie the Pooh vein.

I think I'm going with Tigger, Ajax, Bleach, and Lysol as they are all cleaners (except for Tigger lol).

UPDATE:
I'm going to do a water change tomorrow! The plants are all growing well. One of the dwarf sag plants as sprung up 4 new plants lol. The amazon sword has started to take off and the Java Ferns are growing mini plants. In addition to this, the Java moss and S. Repens are growing very well. There is one mystery plant that I got from my order of pearlweed that needs an ID (will get pics tomorrow, just remind me lol). In general, I would say that the tank is going really well. I hope to get started with the stocking next week by adding 6 WCMM. This will probably change based on how much money I can make between now and then, where I am at with my high school applications, and of course, the devil, COVID. My county is one of the only ones in the Bay Area to not go into lockdown and hopefully it stays this way, but I doubt it. If this happens, it will most likely mean that I will have to do curbside pick up which is not a problem for the WCMM, but I would like to pick all the other fish myself. Especially the Bolivians cuz I want a male and a female. I do need to do some maintenance on the filter to ensure that it is nice and clean tho. Pictures are coming! Thanks for reading and stay safe!

EDIT:
Well, so after posting all my updates, I went to go look at the 29g and guess what I found. A ramshorn snail! I'm not upset, just a bit confused. I have not seen an snail other than mine this entire build and now a ~.25" one shows up. This makes me think there's eggs somewhere... I want to save these snails, but have no where to put them. I might be able to beg my way into getting a jar that I can make into an aquarium like SnookusFish did... Problem is that I would have to buy a jar since the largest one I have is only 1/4 gallons with nothing in it. Hopefully I can make this work as I actually do like ramshorn snail, but at the same time I fear them. If you guys think of any better solutions let me know. Right now the snail snails is in a .14g cup that is floating in the 29. This is a pretty short term solution and tomorrow, I will change 100% of the water and replace until I find him a good home.

Not to be a bummer, but why is the tank cloudy? And the plants look less, do they still have to fill-in? Also, what substrate are you using? Sorry for so many questions.

Lol. It's cloudy cuz of my great phone camera lol. IRL, it's clear. The bottom crypt is almost 4" in length. They are still filling in tho. Using dirt capped with sand. I can link what I used if you want

I think they were either $3.50 or $4 a piece. This is USD btw.

Hopefully I can complete the school and maybe start the corys this weekend.

Do you guys think adding 3 more minnows and 4 more corys is going too quickly?

If you test the parameters for the next few days and the ammonia/nitrites are still in good shape, I'd say you can finish the WCMM school. maybe wait on the cories for a few days after that to make sure you're not super overdoing it, but if you have to get them all at once, it's nothing water changes can't handle.

I think I could go all at once since the plants have propagated so much... I'll add them and then do a 50% 2 days later (not one day later, I want them to settle in/not be stressed).

I was wondering how the plants were doing! Post pics when you get a chance.
And that sounds like exactly what I'd do!

Yeah you should.

If only you could experience it... I think you would agree with me.

Here is a picture (IDK why they always appear green/murky in pics since the tank is clear IRL):

I'll see if I can fix the fuzziness. I also need to add some polyfil to the filter since I feel like I'm really lacking something to take out the really fine particles.

Going to do a water change today on this tank and hopefully get fish tomorrow or Sunday.

Since I'm going to be getting a ton of new fish soon, I'm trying to figure out what I should feed them and here's what I'm thinking:
Bolivians:
WCMM:
Corys:
  • Frozen Bloodworms
  • Shrimp Pellets
  • Flakes and other food that escape the WCMM
Pleco:
Nerites:
Is that a good diet for the fish? Thanks!

Don't know if I can help much on that Because I only have experience with 2 of those fish types (pleco & cories)
My cories seem to be extremely picky. They don't like algae wafers(or Hikari), any aqueon flake food or bottom dweller pellets. I went on to aquarium coop & ordered a brand new diet for mine. I purchased:
-Xtreme Aquatic Food Krill Flakes
-Hikari Vibra Bites
-Hikari sinking bottom feeder pellets
& they loved them! My BN Pleco is kinda picky too she seems to be more interested in meaty pellets than the algae wafers hmm..
You're diet seems well listed, and diverse. Which type of cories did you chose? And I remember you told me a while back you were getting more WCMM's, how is it all going?
