ACEI color darkened Question

We got a small ACEI from petco. She was light dullish blue, but after being in our tank for an hour or so, she is really dark purple now. She is very active, swimming all over the tank. The labs didn't seem to care that she checked out the caves either. Her fins are showing a slight yellow now, but at the pet store they were clear.

I can't seem to find an answer, but is this a sign she is happy and doing better than she was at the pet store?

Sounds like she is thrilled!! I'm so glad she has colored up so nicely for you.

I think that it certainly does sounds like she is doing well.
Fish often change colour according to mood or stress, but the real indicator is behaviour, which makes me think that she is doing just fine.---best, rick

Sure, the little Acei is a happy little fish.
Mbuna will show colours differently when they are happy or are under stress Etc
The Labs will not worry too much about her yet as she is still small, but this may change in the future, and is something for you to be aware of.
