Acclimating Berried Cherry Shrimp

Hey guys! Today I plan on purchasing 1 berried cherry shrimp and a male and female cherry shrimp. I was wondering how do I acclimate the berried shrimp without her losing her eggs. Should I just do a really slow drip acclimation over the course of 3-4 hours? Thank you!

Drip acclimation has always worked best for me, so as not to stress the shrimp out too badly.

Test the water they are being kept in for pH. If the pH is the same or very close to the same as your water then just temperature acclimate them, maybe add some of your water to the bag and call it good. You'd be surprised how tough they are. I was given 8 shrimp, one was berried, and when I received them I thought they were all dead. None of them were moving and most had their legs curled up like dead bugs. The bag was pretty icy but they all recovered after floating to temperature acclimate.

The PH in the store water is 6.5-7 my water is around 7.5-8 I should just drop acclimate her then since the water parameters are different?Thank you

Yes, I would drip acclimate.

Drip or regular acclimation like you'd do with fish should be fine. The berried female may lose her eggs when she molts - it's not unusual for shrimp to molt in new tanks.

Thank you all so much! What if I set up a new 3 gallon tank with a sponge filter from my old filter media and placed a bunch of Java moss. Would it be fine to just place her in the tank if I wanted to use the store water she bred in? Thank you

I wouldn't worry so much about her molting and losing the eggs. If there's a male in the tank with her, she should breed again soon But yes, I don't see why you couldn't do that.

Ok thank you so much I guess I’ll just slowly drop acclimate her in the established tank.
