I have been struggling with my beautiful threadfin. I thought he was constipated maybe and did the whole feeding pees. he eats them just fine. still sits on the bottom. its clear when he swims around he is going to sink.

for the last week and change I have been doing melafix and aquarium salt. what else can I use?

is there anything else I can do if there is an issue with his swim bladder.

thanks in advance

Photo/video, water parameters? Tank size. My blood parrot was in to small a tank before I upgraded him and he stopped eating, and just floated at the top. (Don’t worry he is in a big tank now and is very happy and healthy, he eats fine)

He's in a hospital tank neutral ph. Have been using melafix ans some aquirium salt. No results. Have fasted and then fed pees, he eats them but no change. I noticed the other day his Anus looked a little red when I proved him to swim. If he's not actively swimming he just sinks. Thinking it has to be swim bladder.....notnsure what I can do.

The only thing I can think of is to manually remove the problem. The reason a fish gets swim bladder disorder is because there is air trapped inside of the fish´s swim bladder. You can manually remove the air with a needle but you have to locate the fish´s swim bladder and knock out the fish. you could also just wait it out. here is a video on how to remove the air manually.

Wow! That’s a real heartbreaker.

Hope your threadfin pulls through. It sucks losing something you have raised.
