A Song for the Endler's: A Dios le pido (Juanes)

The Endler's love to dance, and this song is particularly fitting for them as they have been teaching me how to enjoy life despite mycobacteria in their tanks.

This is a song that I used when I would teach the subjunctive to my students. Native speakers of English often get nervous when learning the subjunctive as very little of it remains in modern English. However, if you can sing it and dance it, you realize that it is really just normal to use. )

Overall, the lyrics are about asking for the best and most impossible in all things, but the following lines are particularly true for the Endler's

Que si me muero sea de amor
y si me enamoro sea de vos
y que de tu voz sea este corazón

    (I ask God that)
If I die let it be from love
And if I fall in love let it be with you
And that your voice belong to this heart

Yes, the Endler's want world peace and romance, too ;)

[Note: "vos" (you) is used instead of "tú" in some areas and rhymes with "voz" (voice) in a generally Latin American accent.]
