A ruff evening

I got home to night and took a look at my quoraten tank see how my fish were doing. When I fed them I noticed that one of the guppies was no where to be found. I started to look for him and still nothing. I went in to a panic and started to move every thing around and still nothing. I look on the floor and all around the tank, and still nothing. It was a mystery. My wife had prepared some hamburgers for me to grill and was getting inpatient. So I decided to cook them instead and worry about it later. I put the burger on set the timer but it still bugged me. I went back in side to look for him. Right as the timer went off I saw him stuck to the inside of my air stone waterfall. A side note, I just pulled out a 4+ inch gold fish and put it in me 60 gallon aquarium on Friday. I say that so you know that it has a big colony of good bacteria, and I did not want to destroy it. That being said I not know how I was going to get him out of there. After considering it for a moment, I decided to take it out of the tank and use the blunt end of a thin stick. After all he was dead. I took it to the bathroom sink and push him out and he started to flop around. HE WAS A LIVE!!!. I scoop him up and put him back in to the tank. He is doing well and doesn't seem to be to affected by the experience. Meanwhile I burned the burgers to a nice back charcoal. I am still not sure how he got in there. However I took no chances. I stuff a bunch of filter pads in it to close off all ports. I know that this may be not a big deal to most people. But to me it was even if all ended well. I just had to get it off my chest. Also I was unsure where to post it as I have only been a member for a few days. Sorry if this is the wrong one.

Wow. What an adventurous day for you and your little guy! You might want to keep on eye on him for a couple of days to make sure no injuries were sustained and no bacteria got on him or the tank when he went into the sink, other than that sounds like everything went ok! and believe me that would make most fishkeepers panic as well, welcome to the forum! (also don't worry too much about the category you put it into, try to put it into the right ones but if its important staff moves it)

Woah, glad to hear everything turned out okay! I know that panic mode that strikes when you look EVERYWHERE but you can’t find a fish!! And hopefully your wife wasn’t mad at the burnt burgers! Lol

Wow! I've definitely been there before. Glad to hear he's alright!
I once lost track of a fish and eventually found him stuck inside of a plastic centerpiece. He didn't have room to move around at all, so I feared he had died in there, but he started to wiggle around when I had to carefully pull him out by the tail fin. I'm sure that was the exact same kind of relief you felt when you found your fish was alive and well!

I was relieved and surprised to see him alive. I also felt like a Jerk as he did fall out and hit a dry sink. But yes I was relieved. I also learn a lesson, put some water under them. That being said I hope I never have to use this lesson again

Anyone else slightly disappointed this wasn’t a dog pun?

Glad everything turned out ok
