Hey guys!

Some of you may have seen my thread about suspect fish TB. A month ago a cherry barb died due to unknown causes.
I have 40+ fish spanning over 4 tanks. No others have died or are showing any symptoms of poor health.
Is it safe to say it was just a random death at this point?

Also a very unrelated question that can be ignored if you guys think my fish could have TB.
I ask this planning realistically 1-2 years from now, but are Boesemani Rainbow fish plausible in my 55?
It’s planted and stocked with 5 zebra danios, 8 kuhlis, 14 Glowlights, 2 clown plecos, and several ghost shrimp.
Here’s a pic.

I’ll get more pics tomorrow!

It is very likely it was just a random death. As for the Boesemani, yes they would be possible in a tank that size. Their temperature requirements are the same as those of your kuhlis and clown plecos with around 78-80 degrees being ideal. They also overlap some with your glowlight with 80 being about as high as I’d keep glowlights (ideal would be around 76). Your zebra danios however do need water a little colder than your other fish with their ideal temperature being around 70 degrees.

I started this tank over 2 years ago and, at the time I essentially just picked fish that I knew wouldn’t kill each other didn’t do much research beyond that!
I realize the water is too warm, kept at 76.5, I realize it’s not perfect but I can’t really do much about it :(
The danios have been in the tank almost since its cycle.
I have a 29 too, but it’s kept warmer, stocked with black skirts, cherry barbs, and a BN.
How many males to females is appropriate?

If I was you, I’d swap the Cherry barbs and the danios then lower the temp in your 29. Those species would be okay at around 74 degrees, and cherry barbs are good at 78 degrees, so that would allow you to up the temperature for rainbows as well as your current fish. As for ratios for Boesemani, 1m:2f would be acceptable.

Okay, I can do that! Thank you for all the help
