A Cichlids Tank With Only 4-6 Colorful Fish?

I have a 60 gallon tank and have naturally very hard water. Ideally I'm looking for a set up where:
    • Mix of beautiful yellow and blue fish (bonus if I can sneak a red in there too).
    • Ideally only 4-6 fish only.
    • Ideally can co-exist with jungle vals (but not a deal breaker if they can't).
I only want 4-6 fish because:
    • My schedule will only give me time to do 1-2 water changes a week.
    • The "overstocked" look of most cichlid tanks makes me feel anxious.
Is it possible, for example, for me to get 4 malawi cichlids -- one acei, one electric yellow, one aulonocara firefish, one melanochromis estherae, etc.

Since they are different color and slightly different shaped, would they still be aggressive against each other?

Have you looked at peacocks. You can get the colors you want and not have too different of patterns. Just don't sell the fry, As a breeder i can't stand mixed species mutts.
