75g To A 125g

Hey guys! I haven't been able to post in a while but I really wanted to share this with you guys.

One of my tanks (and my favorite one) is a 75 gallon and has been running since December 2015. I've had such an amazing time caring for the aquarium and the fish within. It's by no means a top of the line aquarium. It has a ton of scratches and I went DIY to the max on it. I bought it just to make sure I was really going to be interested in the hobby. I now have nine tanks running so it's safe to say I'm hooked! Here's the 75:

I've been saving up cash and am upgrading to a 125g. I should be picking it up sometime this weekend. I got it for $350 and it comes with the tank, stand, 2 led lights, fx6, heater, lids, and some wavemakers. Here's a picture of it.

I plan on painting the back black. I'll be using HTH pfs, large river rocks (head sized), one or two large pieces of driftwood, and a couple of plants.

In terms of stocking I'll be moving over my 75 gallon stocking which is:
1 Electric Blue Acara 4"
2 Severums 2.5"
2 Hoplo Catfish 2.25"
2 Bolivian Rams 2"
6 Zebra Loaches 1.5 - 2.25"
6 Trifaciata (Goyder River) Rainbowfish 3"
Beyond those fish I'm clueless lol! I might bump the rainbowfish numbers up.

I'll keep you guys updated! I'm so excited!

Ahhh. That stinks! I just grabbed a 120 gallon tank and it's a whole new level of fun. Good luck finding one. Take it as a sign to go 150g!

Hopefully I find one sooner than later! I'd love to go bigger but I only have 18" of depth where I can put it so I'm stuck with either a 125g or a 150g.

Coolio! I have never tried "painting" the back, I always do backgrounds of solid colors.

I would recommend "plasti-dip". That way if you don't like it you can remove and try something else.

I was just going to spray paint it black. Cheaper than buying a film to cover it and just as good.

Plastidip comes in a spray paint can. It sets up as a removal film in case you want to change it.
