My LFS is selling 75g tanks for $75. I'm thinking of getting on for an oscar.
Could I put a severum or other cichlid in with him? :;thx

I wouldn't put a Severum in with him, sevs are mild-mannered. A Jack Dempsey would work and a Rainbow OR Red Tail Shark would be a nice addition too. :)

I've read mixed things about jacks and oscars. Can it be done?

One adult oscar will fully stock a 75 IMO. If you choose to keep another fish with the o, I would suggest having an upgrade plan in place.

IMO, an oscar needs a minimum of 55g. So with a 75g, you can probably have another tankmate as suggested above but if any aggression signs appear, you'd better have a spare tank just incase. Best of luck! :;hf
