75 watt eheim heater

DerekO24

Is the 75 watt enough for a 20 tall ? I’ve seen mixed reviews. I want low profile as possible

That size should be fine, although it can depend on your room temperature and how much you want to raise the temperature by. A 100W would make sure though.

What temp do your fish need and what temp will the room be?

Need about 78-80. Room is generally 65-70
A lot of these heaters are big. I don’t want this big gaudy thing in my tank

Us an inline heater or a canister filter with integrated heater. I have zero experience with the former, but plenty with the latter. Works great. There is some inefficiency caused by the tubes. Best to keep the (outgoing) tube as short as possible and perhaps even isolated as well.

A 75 watt has the capability to heat a 20 gallon by up to about 18 degrees above room temperature. Should easily handle what you need with a lid on the tank.

Eheims are typically longer than the average heater and sometimes require calibration.

Certainly worth a shot. Until recently, i was using a 100watt heater on a 29 gal that stayd at 78-80,. Replaced only because it was getting old.
