Hi!
Just a little background on the tank. I bought it in May of 2011. Because of traveling and life getting in the way I was not able to set it up until early August. The tank was cycled with TSS and I had even parameters by August 30th. I first started this tank out as heavily planted but now I'm thinking that I want to stay away from having a lot of plants and just focus on a couple types of plants. My current flora of the tank include: Narrow Leaf Amazon Swords, Argentinian Swords, Indian Red Swords, Marimo, Jungle Val, Aponogeton ulvaceus and Bacopa Monnieri. I intend on getting more Marimo and Swords along with getting a couple Anubias. I'll also keep the Apono. The other plants will probably go. My move from Indiana to Florida had disastrous affects on m plants and stock so I am rebuilding from scratch practically. Currently the fauna of my tank include: Clown Plecos Albino Aeneus Cory Catfish, a German Blue Ram, two 'surprises' (can't tell yet ;D), and several Mystery Snails. I'm not sure what exactly I'll end up after I'm done restocking but I'm sure it'll be interesting haha.
Here are some pictures of my tank before the move and right after the move.
My German Blue Ram is a new addition. After I arrived from Indiana my filter decided to break. So I ran out and got a new canister filter. My new canister is a Cascade 1,000. Works great and my water is crystal clear. My heaters also broke during the move so I bought two new heaters. They are pretty cheap so I have new heaters on their way to me. After I bought my filters and I got home I realized I had forgotten to get some new food. I ran out to a different LFS and saw some great looking German Blue Rams. They were $11 each but I decided to try it. I bought a male and a female. I also bout my Aponogenton ulvaceus at that time. Unfortunately the male died two days after I bought him and the LFS only has a 24hr guarantee on their fish. So I decided not to buy another. The female seems to be doing well. She is getting along well with all my fish, including my two new surprises. My two surprises were something I wasn't positive I was getting until they arrived. They both arrived safely from South America. I'm sure I'll find to tell you all about my surprises soon. I want them to settle in before I get a camera out to bother them. Course, that being said, doesn't mean I didn't take pictures while they were sedated.
During the move my Narrow Leaf Amazon Sword decided it was time to multiply. It send out a 'flower stem'. Basically this is a stem off which smaller plants grow until they are large enough to support themselves. Here are a couple of pictures of my mother plant.
