Well, my Tang tank is no longer a Tang tank. Now that the tank has to be outside, controlling the day length to keep the algae in check was just too much of a pain in the :;bb for me to do. Consequently, there was a lot of algae. Also now that I've been reduced to a mere two tanks the Tangs just were not cutting it as far as the colour & movement I want. So the Tangs have gone & made way for soem Mbuna. The Common Bristlenose has stayed & so have the Synodontis Multipunctaus that I love so much but everything else was traded to my LFS today for 4 Electric Yellows (what aussies call Yellow Labs) & 3 Mainganos. I should have taken some cash with me so I could get 2 more Mainganos but I'll just do that tommorow when I go back to pick up the third species I'm going to keep. I havn't decided what the third species is going to be yet, so if anyone has any ideas, please respond in my thread in the stocking questions section. My camera batteries are on charge at the moment so there's no pics to go here but I'll get some pics up tommorow at some stage.

Now to go & try to edit the title of this thread....

I'm sorry the Tang tank didn't work out, but mbuna will make for a very fun tank.

If you notify any of the mods of the title you'd like, we'd be happy to edit your thread title for you;D

Thanks BB & congrats & becoming a mod. Well deserved.

I'm not really all that fussed about the title but it is a bit misleading now that the Tangs are gone. You can come up with a title for it if you like or you can just leave it. People might get a surprise when they come along expecting to see my Tangs getting older & bigger is all.

I could have gotten the Tangs working but it was just too much messing around for me to be bothered with now that I'm healthy & back at work again. The Mbuna are great for the kids anyway seeing they love the colour & movement. I'm trying to look at the positives rather than the negatives. The Daffodil, Calvus & 2 LeleupI went straight into the LFS owners private tank anyway so I know they are in good hands & I'll still get to see them grow up to full adulthood.

Thanks, Nutter

I agree, mbuna are definitely fun for kids. Both mbuna and children have lots of energy, too

It sounds like everything is working out well. That's really cool you'll still be able to see the Tangs grow up.

Thanks for the title change BB.

My youngest was over the moon when he came home from school & saw the Mainganos. He loves anything blue.
