Hey guys! I recently just got a 60 gallon fish tank from a friend. I have a 10 gallon with guppies and platies so I'm not sure what are good combinations for a community 60 gallon tank. Any help would be great!

Are you going to get the guppies and platies into the 60 gallon? What are the numbers of each?

  3. Wilson JohnsonValued MemberMember

Yes, I have 5 guppies and 4 platies

    Maybe you can do this:

    5x guppies
    4x platies
    10x neon tetras
    8x false juli cory
    1x bolivian ram

    What is a Bolivian ram?

Is it it just a fancy chichlid?

  8. aquatickeeperFishlore VIPMember

Yes, but it is generally peaceful

    Are chichlids usually aggressive?

  10. aquatickeeperFishlore VIPMember

Yeah, but bolivian rams are generally peaceful. Many have kept them in community tanks with no problem

Is it better to have like 15 of one type of tetra or like 6 of two types

It's better to have 1 larger school than more smaller schools. The bigger the school the happier they are

I would get rid of guppies and platties because if you don't you will have thousands

Some are but some are peaceful.

Well the OP never stated they had both genders but if they do very few fry will survive in a community tank. I have guppies and platies of both genders in my tank but no fry have survived apart from ones I caught.
