I need some advice on setting up my planned aquascape.

This tank is going to be for 1 angel, 8-10 neon dwarf rainbowfish, 8-10 albino corydoras & amano shrimps.

So far the plan is to use eco complete or cheap gravel in media bags on one side to create a slope, add a 1-2in layer of organic soil then cap it with black diamond med sand.

I'm thinking i can wedge the manzanita wood between the bags of eco complete then add the dirt and sand on top. That should keep it in place.

As for plants i'm still not sure what i want. For now all i can think of is java fern and vallisneria behind the wood with moss on the branches.

Any suggestion for the background/midground/foreground are welcomed.

Light will be a Fluval plant 3.0. Will be using Nilcg line of liquid fert and root tabs.

So, Do you see anything that needs to be changed?

You can't lose with "Rocks".
Big flat bottom rocks in the back. Stackable & Slanters in the middle & foreground.

Do you mean like stacking to make caves? Or laying slate in certain areas?

Something like this, but with added driftwood & plants.

I love crypt as a mid/foreground plant. I definitely agree with adding some rock. You can go with the big smooth river rock or something with a bit more texture
