Hey, this is my 55 gallon planted angelfish community tank; all plants, rocks, and driftwood is real. The tank has been running since mid-July of this year. Here is the stocking of the tank:
5 angels
5 siamese algae eaters
4 neon tetras
3 ottos
2 upside down catfish
1 striped raphael cat
1 bosemanI rainbow
1 kissing gourami
1 african knifefish
1 black ghost knifefish

plants include various swords, crypts, java ferns, java moss, vals, and others that I don't remember the names of.

Tell me what you think!

thanks

the first 3 photos are a couple months old, you can see how the tank has been slightly re-rearranged and has grown out since then

I like your tank, the plants look great.

I definitely see some issues with your stock though. Just the most obvious to me is that both the Knifefish get way too big for that tank and you will eventually have to rehome them or upgrade. Also the BoesemanI should really have at least 4-5 more of its own kind to be happy.

Tank looks nice! I really like the big java fern in the middle. What concerns me most is your stocking. BosemanI rainbows, neons upside down cats, and your ottos should be in schools of 5+. If you do that then you'll be over stocked so you need to rehome some fish. I would rehome both knife fish because they both grow way over a foot and the kissing gourami as I heard they get gigantic.

the plant in the middle is actually an amazon sword
as for the stocking
both knives are still young so they will be fine for now, when they get big I will rehome them. I had about 6 neons at one point and two died or were eaten at some point. I had two bosemani's but one died a couple weeks ago and they are too expensive for me to get more. and the ottos, I'm planning on getting 3 more next time I am at my lfs.

Thank you for your concerns, if you have any more suggestions let me know.
I'm also going to be posting a video in a few minutes so you can get an idea of how big the fish are

heres a link to the video...

Probably not if their babies/juvies. And oops! No wonder that plant looked so big for a java fern!

are mine babies/juvies? I don't really know how big adults are. I have seen angels much smaller than mine but I'm not sure if mine are quite adults yet
also, if anyone could ID any of the strains for me that would be awesome!

From what it looks like, yours are exactly full size adults nor babies either. They are in the middle.

Could you possibly get any better pictures of the Angel? Then I may be able to identify their strain

I also really over filter the tank to help deal with all the fish, I have a penguin 200 and and an aqueon power flow 60 on it

thanks PHP,
I Think I have the following
1 marble
1 black( not sure cuz I can see stripes though)
1 gold
1 gold marble
and the last one was sold to me as a blue diamond but I think its one of the phillipine blue pearlscales

If you have a Phillipine Blue Pearlscale, your one lucky duck. Those are hard to come by where I am

ya it was only about 7 bucks too

are there any strains similar to Philippine blue pearlscales that it might be?
also the downside to it is that once I got it in the tank, I realized it was missing a ventral

completly missing the ventral or is it just real short ? They grow back very fast if you have good water quality, One of my big males had his ventral bitten off it completly grew back in 3 weeks

completely missing, apparently its a common deformity in pearlscales.... he swims fine and doesn't look unhealthy at all though

here's a video of my tank at night, both my black ghost and african knifefishes make an appearance
