I'm just being nosy I'm looking to upgrade and to me bigger the better! Where did you get a 55 gallon that cheap? If you don't mind me asking. The cheapest I can find is $160 which is outta my price range! However, I am in need of an upgrade! Lol

I was looking for a tank on craigslist, and found a pet store going out of business that is about 1hr 15min away. I'm going back this weekend to pick up some other things that I think I want, but want to see what people come up with from this forum. The guy has everything, Fluval, Rena, Sun Sun, Eheim canister filters, all 75% off. Auto feeders, UV Starilizers, timers, cyprus drift wood, seriously everything. I have hit the jackpot as far as I'm concerned.

Hey Underwater, I'm looking to get a Sun sun canister. If he still has any, is there any way we could maybe work out a deal where I PayPal you the cost plus shipping, and get you to send me one? Lol, that's a killer deal, and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the post.

Mims, I just added you as a contact. I have no problem helping you out. what size are you wanting. Keeping in mind that he may be out so if he doesn't have the sun sun that you want, give me a few more types and sizes that you would be ok with as well as the amount your willing to spend.

Apologizes to the moderator.

I got my tank, and started to build the stand today, I should only need one more day to work on it, then I'll move it into my house (probably next Saturday. Just wanted to show it off, I'm pretty excited about it. The stands canopy is on hinges, and put a 1" 1/2 space behind the tank to allow plumbing from my sump and wires. I going to change the door a little but for the most part this is it. 55 gallon tank with a custom built stand.

Awesome! I would use a Uv light, I'm not too much into brands, because I love live plants and fish.

I'm looking to get a 55 gallon and build my own stand as well...I love what you've made. Is this your own creation or did you have a guide of some sort?

Jroe263, no plans, just my own creation. I knew I didn't want a messy looking tank with wires and pipes everywhere, I wanted it modern looking, and I also wanted the maintenance to be as simple as possible. The only way to achieve that was to come up with something on my own. I took a lot of photos of the build, so if anyone is interested, I can post a how to guide with material lists once the project is complete (next weekend).
