You know i've never named my fishes. I mean I have the passive female platinum angel and the runt platinum and the bossy male black - but names - i've never given them names - I have the shy clown and the clown I see once a month and the clown that comes out everyday but they don't have names. Hum and it is a miracle when all 5 come out. There is the out going female bn and the male bn I see once every 60 days but names? I've never given a fish a name. Do people actually name their fishes ? If you call a fish by its name does it do flips and come running ? When we called our dog it always ran away and hid.

Thanks for the plants!

1. I am feeding them Freeze-Dried Blackworms and Frozen Bloodworms.
2. 50%
3. Twice a week.

Ok they are 3” discus? If you can up your water changes. Best would be 50% every day. Your fish will grow big. But if you can’t please go to every other day. Just till they hit the 5-6” size.
Ok both good foods. Fdbw are great for beefing up discus. You could feed them 4+ times a day. I add water to them and spill a little at a time into the tank. Just enough for them to finish in 2 min. Than I spill in another 2 min worth. For 6 I would use 2 cubes at each feeding. Same way with the bloodworms. But I only feed blood worms twice a week and I mix them with frozen brime shrimp. One cube of each. Also try to get them to eat flake foods. I buy the blackworms flakes and mix them with nutri diet discus flakes and whatever other flakes I have. This I give them once daily. The nutri diet is a probiotics for fish. Has garlic in it and keeps them eating.

NC122606 Looking Good!
Hard to remember mine at 3" almost a year ago now, glad I got pics. I was unable to do daily 50% wc with my schedule, so I opted for 75-90% every 2-3 days. They are 5-6" now.
Feed, feed. feed, water changes and repeat!

I think they are like small snails. I keep getting them also - they drive the fishes crazy as they go into attack mode around them. Pretty dangerous .... You need some loaches to eat them.

Uh, what in the world? What are these?

I don't know because the orange and the turq are the only ones going back there. I swear I have not seen them until today.

Also, I do not know if they are discus eggs or snails eggs but the UV is vertical and flat...

I do not know what to do if they hatch I never planned on breeding or anything... I have no extra tank except for a 10 gallon.

Maybe this explains the increase of aggression of barry (Orange discus) for the past few days... I might email Kenny or something because I am panicking right now.

Sounds like you need to get another tank! You can make a pretty penny selling those!

Lol, yeah no CoryFan. I do not think I am allowed.

I just emailed Kenny and I will let you know how it goes. I am going to post this in a discus forum because I am 100% going to get bashed for breeding these in this tank. Not that I had plans to breed at all but still.

I can but, I am just saying that because you are supposed to breed discus separately and not in a huge community like a tank.

I wish my fish would randomly breed
I keep reading threads of new fish breeding spontaneously.

Interesting to see how this pans out, hopefully not too stressfully.

Yeah, my albino corries have yet to spawn and I’ve had them for 3 years!

And yes lol "Bruh" would be an accurate description. Your discus have their own Spawning schedule in mind. I can't wait to see how this progresses

Nothing to worry about yet. Usually the first time they breed they eat the eggs. May take many times before they get it right. Good luck .

No doubt discus eggs. Very similar to ram and angel eggs but you don't have angels or rams

Also, I do not know if they are discus eggs or snails eggs but the UV is vertical and flat...

I suspect that might be commercial breeding as oppose to ....
-
I mean anytime you have a male and female fish together there is a reasonable chance they will breed. Thats just the fishy nature of fishes.

Congrats! As mentioned they will probably be eaten especially in a community tank. I even moved my pair to their own tank and after numerous spawns, only one has gotten to the wiggler stage. They still keep trying.

Good Luck!

Update,
3rd day we lost some.

D0905C16-A488-4AA6-830F-4CC079EE7E17.jpeg
I see a lot of white but there is clearly more brownish. I cannot get close enough to the eggs to check without taking it out since it is the back corner. Anyone have some knowledge on this?

I think it means most are fertilize. Tomorrow should be more interesting. I don't have discus but so far my angels seem to eat them the hour they are suppose to hatch. With luck your discus will do something a bit more interesting than snack.

I really like that yellow discus - it is a hans discus right? Also coralbandit noted that light colour discus are harder to breed than dark colour - something about the wrigglers have problem finding their parents (i think).

They are all from Kenny's Discus, which he imports from malysia

I don't think hans sells any yellow?
