I know, I know. I did it anyways.

But I’m going to wait it out for the plant because that’s the one thing keeping the discus from killing each other. Same for the rest on the sand.

I don’t think it will do anything to the treatment if you rinse the plant. That stuff isn’t attacked like algae it’s just stuck there. Put the plant under your faucet and it should come right off. Then just replant the plants. I would remove as much as possible so the treatment can kill the rest. Also once done with the treatment use api co2 booster to keep it away.

I'm not sure i would use api co2 in that tank. Also having used the stuff i can attest it will all dissipate on its own in a relatively short period. There is no harm in rinsing the plant but i just wouldn't add additional additives like api co2. I've found over time there are some negative by products and your probably already stressing out your livestock.

I hear ya. But I use it daily for the last two years. Only reason I know it could be a problem is if it’s not used daily and just added every so often. My tanks are planted and discus and cherry shrimp. So if they can handle it I think it’s ok. .

I presume you add it to control algae ?

Can I use a few pieces of cholla wood? I don’t see any problem with it dropping the pH much because the tank is pretty big. How long would I boil or soak it? I don’t really want tannins but I think carbon may help.

Ok so you know how I said there was going to be a surprise this week?

I plan to chop the wisteria a bit and add the giant hyg from 86.

So?

Just did a water change again, sadly my mystery snail got caught on the intake and died. I caught it probably the same day he died so ammonia probably didn’t have a chance to be that bad. Still sucks.
