Hello everyone, I’m having a panic attack...
Well in my tank I have
6 guppies
1 BN pleco
1 mystery snail
3 cherry shrimp
1 Dwarf flame.
8 longfin zebra danio
I love these guys. Omg do I.

Anyways today stupid me went and bought some neon tetras at my LFS I find out he gives me some free extras that were in the “brought back” tank. Me not thinking twice since he just adds them in the bag then tells me as it’s rubberbanded upI went ahead for it. I wanted 10 ended up with 13... after five minutes of the neons in the tank I notice not full body covered but a couple had white spots on the top fins. I took them all out and back to the store they went . Sadly now what ... do I lose my baby’s or any inverts?

I didn’t wanna go on here and hear bad news I thought I’d just figure it out myself but I’d love opinions. Is my 50 gallon affected? Do I wait from here? Any help is very much appreciated!

Ps
I love my fish

Just carefully monitor your other fish for white spots and scratching behaviour.

It sounds like you got some fish with ich, but if they weren’t there long enough to let the parasite spread then you’ll be fine. I’d do a thorough gravel vacuum then wait and see if white spots appear on your other fish.

You can also cross check the heat tolerance of the particular species your keeping and raise the temperature in your tank. A heat treatmeant can stop ich from spreading if it was introduced and at a high enough temperature can eradicate it. Definitely gravel vacuum just incase some spores fell off.
