50 Gallon... Breeder

Well,

Turns out the "40 Gallon breeder" we bought is actually a 50 Gallon breeder.... never heard of or seen one, but we noticed that our aquarium looked so much bigger than the 40 Gallon breeders at Petco.. my GF took the measurements and sure enough, 50 gallons!

For the stocking list, was thinking

19 female Bettas
6 Leopard Endlers (to start - I'll remove the females to have them reproduce)
3 Clown Plecos
16 KuhlI Loaches

Flourite Black Sand
Need filter suggestion!!!

How's that looking? Any ideas?

Thanks

19 betta's!?!?!?!?! is the tank heavily planted? Sponge filters work best with sand I recommend tank temp to be kept at 81. that's odd!!!! a 50 breeder!?!?!?

Tank will be heabily planted , of course perhaps more like 15 we will do, we have to find a local breeder

I don't think a sponge filter will be enough unfortunately...

We'll keep the tank at 78 for the Guppies and KuhlI Loaches, that way everyone will be happy

Yup!! 50 breeder! Crazy

Okay, sounds good! also you can do 2 or 3 (to spread them out) 25 gallon sponge filters or a 60G one here is link to them:

HOBs are fine with sand. All my tanks (a 29, 10, and 125) have HOBs. You could do an aqueon 75 (400 GPH ) and a sponge filter. You could also do just a large canister.

A betta sorority mixed with a community is tough to do. I hope you'll be vigilant. Good luck.

Thank God you said that. I'm planning a 55 with sand and hob and just about had a heart attack.

All I ever use are HOBs. I love that type of filter.
