After my horrible mistake and almost loosing my shrimpy I found a cheap 5gal for $10. It came with 3 minnows (will be moved to the pond). Is a 5gal big enough?

I am currently using a 5gal QT, i keep my eyes on water quality (tank is cycled). And if possible change 25-30% water daily. No problems so far, tank is barely decorated (a cave a single 7inch fake plant, and a dark substrate enough to just cover the bottom) edit: of course this 5g is for fishes 2-3in Max! Any bigger than that I would recommend having a 15 or 20 gallon QT

Thank you for your input. My betta is my largest fish. Not getting anything too soon. My recent noob move/scare prompted the purchase of a QT tank.
