5 Gallon Heater Question Question

    is it ok to put a heater that is rated for 5 gallons in a 20 gallon long? is it safe ? Or will it over work and break?

    If you don't need it to raise the temperature by a lot, you can give it a try. I don't think it should overwork unless it's a German brand--they're so OCD ;)

    It won't damage anything, but it won't heat the tank very efficiently either

    In all likelihood you will need to set the small heater to a higher temperature then you want your tank and that will take some experimenting to get right :p
