Hey everyone! So I have a 5 gallon that I'm going to set up to experiment with some live plants and possibly add a betta to later on in the winter. I have found that my sponge filter simply does not keep it clean. I use an Aquaclear 20 in my 10 gallon that has six ember tetras and five young neons, and I never *knock on wood* have any issues! The tank seems to stay much cleaner. I know that the Aquaclear 20 is listed for 5 gallons-20 gallons, but I wanted to know if it would be too much filtration (if that's possible) for that small of a tank? I really love that filter but I can't seem to find a smaller filter that isn't an internal corner filter (which doesn't work with my tank). I like the design of the Aquaclear 20, how it hangs over the side of the tank (not sure what you'd refer to that as, sorry!), but I simply cannot find a smaller model. Any opinions on getting another one for my 5 gallon? If you know of any other filters that are the same type and would be good for my tank, let me know! Thanks!
