I have a betta fish. She is most likely the sweetest thing you will never meet. The only kinds of fish she has ever had issues with is danios and neon tetras. Other than that she has never flared up or chased anything else. What could i put in her 5.5 gallon with her? Im not so much asking compatibility but what fish would fit. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no fish can fit in a 5.5 gallon with a Betta. You could add a snail or shrimp though

Compatibility aside, most people would seem to think that there will not be space for another fish, and I would agree with them.

Nothing else in there! A 5.5 is a good size. If you can get a larger tank, and want some tank mates. I would go to Petco, get a 10 gallon (1 dollar 1 gallon deal going on right now), and then maybe put in a few other fish.

I would say you might be able to get away with a few platies if you really can’t get a bigger tank and have your heart set on tank mates that aren’t a couple shrimp or snails. But if you are open minded then I would say no tank mates, or get an upgrade to at least a 10 gallon.

No other fish in a 5.5g tank with a betta sorry. 10g or larger is best if you're trying to mix bettas with other fish and even then its hit or miss.

You could try some shrimp or a nerite snail. Nerites are usually the best bet. If your shrimp are small enough the betta will eat them.
