4g Shrimp Tank

I finally found the time to get this tank how I want it! It's a petco 3.7 cubic. I had it up and running for a couple months, but I hated the built in filter. It took up so much space and didn't do as great of a job as I'd hoped. So, I took it out. I temporarily have a Cascade 170 internal filter until my minI sponge filter gets here.
Also, I used Mr. Aqua Aquarium Soil this time, and so far I like it better than the ADA aquasoil. I had ZERO cloudiness, even when moving the soil around after adding water. Time will tell how well the plants do. Topped off with a Mr. Aqua led light.
Started fishless cycling with TSS tonight. I think I'll let it run a month or 2 before adding the shrimps. Still trying to decides which type/colors would look best.

Good choice on substrate color! It will make the red shrimp really pop with that grow light too!

*Update*
So this little tank ended up in my basement office. The temp is pretty constant so I removed the heater. Temp is staying at 72-74 degrees (depending on if the light is on or not). Does anyone think that it's too cold for shrimp or a couple chilI rasboras?

I wouldn't put any fish in their since the only fish that can do find in the tank is a betta which by the way isn't a good choice since they will eat shrimps. Had mine eat my ghost and cherry shrimps. As for your tank I would add driftwood just to create more surface area for the shrimp to hide, climb on and graze on. Ebay is a good place to buy small peices of driftwood for a cheap price, usually they sell driftwood that are about 4-5 inches for about $5.

I did change things slightly and there is more cholla wood for them graze and climb on, plus a light layer of algae on the substrate and rock. This will be a shrimp only tank, no chili's

Looks nice! Wish I could have some crystals but they are incompatible with my current setups ... they'll have to wait until I can get a little tank like this.

I also ordered from Aquatic Arts. I've ordered Neos from them before and have been very happy with them so hoping the crystals are the same great quality.

There may have been an extra tiny black one, but I can't find it now so I can 100% confirm that. It was pretty hard to tell, even in the bag. They do usually send some extra. I for sure got extra yellow neos that I also ordered for a different tank.

Well I have 21 and I normally see less than 10 every time I look. IN a 40 breeder they are hard sometimes to pick out. ALthough the plants are usualy where I try to look since sometimes you will see them on the stems. My tank is mainly anubias so... I also Have lots of driftwood and different crooks and stuff which I did and naturally did. I hope they breed that way I can have more.
