I am about to buy this light for $85 tomorrow it's a 48" current USA outer orbit light fixture it has two-150 watt Metal Halides, four-48 inch 54 watt t5 bulbs, 9 blue moonlight L.E.D's and 9 white moonlight L.E.D's. My question is this I know its obviously a upgrade from my current Coralife 4 Bulb t5 fixture but is this a good fixture has anyone ever had/used one before? I know the obvious stuff to look for but any know issues with these lights I should know about? Can't really find any reviews or anything on it so any help is apriciated in advance. it also comes with the hanging kit and the legs to mount it to the top of the tank.

I have an 18" current USA on my chaeto refugium. It's vastly different than the one your considering but I'll say that I got it used and It's been very reliable and has done wonders for my algae. I consider them to be quality systems and have read good things about them.

I'm getting the one in the 2nd pic down. I can't wait to get it and put it on the 75g. I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa Clause. LoL

I don't know about lighting other than the Marinelands I have looking great (I never kept corals etc...), but after reading the link - sounds awesome! I really like the blue LED's for mine at night.

My current light has 4 blue l.e.d moonlights I love the shimmer they give off in my tank at night. Everyone likes how some of my corals glow or change colors under them. LoL Looking for a good camera now so I can start taking some good pics of the corals and fish. LoL

I'm wondering what the diffrerence is between the 150watt halide and 250 watt halide version if its just the bulb or if something else is different. Thinking I might be able to upgrade it to the 250's by just changing the bulb out maybe. doing some googleing now to try to find out. LoL

Will get some more pics of the different stages as they happen didn't want to mess with my corals light cycle to much while swapping light fixtures around.
Right now I have it attached to the top of the tank with the legs. I got the hanging kit with it to don't know if I should hang it or leave it as is though any opinions on that from anyone. Leave on top the tank or should I hang it?

Jeez, that thing is pretty serious! Your corals should be growing out of control in no time with the help of that lighting. I wouldn't hang it but that's just me.

Yeah this light is pretty serious and so bright. LoL I am already seeing polyp extention on my corals like I have never seen before and it's only been on the tank for a little over a hour. LoL I'm kinda iffy on hanging it to cause it has a lil weight to it. I felt like I was lifting a midget on to the top of my tank especially compaired to my old fixture.LoL

Couldn't find anything on it. I might not have to though the 150s in it are bright. I am across the room from it and feel like I'm getting a tan from it. LoL
