Bryangar
Okay, I think i’m ready to start my new set up. My 46 gallon has been sitting in my living room for a while, looking bare. I want to dirt the tank. But, I still have questions.
To start off, I read that miracle grow has different soils and the best one to use would be the garden soil, is that right? Should I add in some root tabs before I cap?
I have basically all the things needed, just waiting for my light to come in the mail. I am still stuck on which plants to buy. Would rotala and ludwigia plants do good in a dirted tank? I want to be sure I can actually grow it before I buy it. So far, I have had luck growing every plant I have bought. Which are mostly beginner plants. I read that rotala and ludwigia are more intermediate plants. Here are the plants that I was thinking about buying.
- Myrio pinnatum
-Ludwigia narrow leaf
-Hygrophilia augustifolia
-Rotala Wallichi
-Rotala Indica
-Ludwigia Repens
-Hydrocotyle sp. Japan
-Hygro “kompakta”
-Ludwigia Ovalis
Which ones would and wouldn’t thrive in my tank?
Tank: 46 bowfront
light:Beamswork DA 6500k
Substrate: dirt capped with sand and gravel/eco complete
