:;ninASIAN TANK FOR ASIAN FISH:;nin
Big Buddha, Bamboo, Java Fern, Betta Bulbs and one plant I can't identify. I have some large rocks in the back that form small caves for the fish to hide. My background and gravel are plain black. All in a 3gal. six sided glass tank.
I run a RedSea Nano Filter, Hydor Mini Heater and the tiniest Bubble Wand I could find.
25% Water change every week. (Water is aged and conditioned)
My Betta shares his home with a Peppered Cory.
Water squeaky clean, parameters stable for a few months now and fish happy and healthy!

The Cory has been in the tank for well over a month.
So far so good! I hope it will stay that way. Both seem to get along just fine! No chasing, no flaring, no aggression at all.
Maybe I am just lucky!?!? Maybe it is a bromance? Once in a while the Betta will lay on top of the Cory inside of one of the little caves and they nap

This is the first time I did more than just throw some plastic plants and gravel into a tank (Goldfish). My plan was to get some RCS, but then I ended up saving the Betta from being dumped into a sink at WalMart.

good call! all WalMart fish could use some saving, especially their poor Bettas =( amazingly tho, i've seen some of the nicest looking ones at WalMart. One time, i saw a very nice Veil Tail that was all fins and a brilliant blue color all through out his body! i drooled over that fish so much >.<

I love the tank, it looks great!

I'm just wondering, is the cory a permanent resident of the tank?

cory was too small to fend for himself in my neighbors tank. he was suppose to stay with us till he got a little bigger. now both fish get along so well... we will keep him till there is any sign of aggression or other problems.
