Hi all, I just rehomed my blood parrot from my standard 38gallon tank. I now want to start a single species cichlid tank (not african), looking for suggestions. Thinking about sajica or any other cichlids not common (their not common in my area). Oh, my tank will have driftwood & rocks but no plants. Thanks in advance for your responses.

These are some that I think of at the top of my head:
    • South American cichlids (these include the dwarf varieties)

    • "Unique" South American cichlids (these of course require their own care needs/tank sizes, etc. they're just suggestions for non-Africans)
-blood parrots (you've already have them tho, so u can ignore this one :p)
    -flowerhorn cichlids

Unfortunately, the African cichlids encompass A LOT of the variety, but luckily, not all of it!

Hope this helps and all the best!

What are the dimensions of the tank? Sajicas are singe if my favorite cichlids so can't complain with that choice

Tank is to small for discus. I like cockatoo cichlids. would a threadfin Geophagus fit in that tank?

    I wouldn't do a threadfin unless it's 48 inches

I think a sajica pair wouldbe perfect

I'll second a sajica pair. Of course, I do like cockatoos - you could do a male with several females and have a species only harem!

Thanks all again, I've decided to do a sajica pair, will update progress
