Will my 37 gallon topfin aquarium fit on a 40 gallon stand?

Will my 37 gallon topfin aquarium fit on a imagitarium Brooklyn 29 gallon metal stand??

um...maybe? a simple solution would be to measure both the stand and the aquarium.

Didnt you just post? Did I not already comment measure it? How can we know if your aquarium will fit. use a ruler or tape measure and figure the dimensions of your tank out. Maybe? Unlikely?

Yes, but your aquarium will overhang by 1/4 of an inch.
Google is pretty usefull. Using that would have answered your question.

So its not feasible because of the overhang is what you're saying. so no. not possible.

I mean if they want their tank length hanging off the table then no. But if they dont mind then thats up to them.

Then again i wouldnt use that stand they mentioned anyways. It looked like a metal box with no table top.

I think we have figured out what we want. But this person cant figure out how to use the forums or something

The stand is 30x12.5 and the tank is 30x12, however a lot of times the plastic frame on the tank is not taken accounted for. Is this the case? Not sure you’d have to measure yourself. But I’d bet yes it would fit.

That said, I would advise against any overhang. I would also highly advise against any stand that it not a solid top, ie holes in the middle. I know there is a ton of online advice stating only the rim of a framed glass tank needs to be supported but it is not ideal for support of the structure and is more so made to cut costs.

If it's only a 1/4" of overhang on each side, I think the OP could get away with a piece of plywood between the tank and stand cut to the profile of the tank. I think 1/2" plywood would work, but if you wanted to be safe 3/4" hardwood plywood would be pretty robust.

Never let your tank overhang your stand. Just get a piece of 3/4" piece of plywood cut to the size of your tank and it will support the overhang. Don't risk it overhanging the stand without support on the edges.
