I've had some threads leading up to upgrading my tank to 36g bowfront and it finally happened so figured I post a photo.

IMG_0610.JPG
This was also the first time my CPDs are coming into direct contact with the rest of my fish. So far everything seems fine. Still a little early so will keep monitoring closely. Surprisingly the CPDs have been the least shy of all the fish and swimming out in the open mostly. Will post more photos in the next coming days.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped out. mrsalty1223, platy21, claireputput, James95, tameone, r4fish17 (This is only some of the wonderful people who gave me helpful advice. If I missed you apologize)

Thank you everyone!
Coradee- I put the sand in for the cories and so far none of them wants to go over there. Hopefully they'll go over there sooner or later and help me aerate the sand.

Here's more photos.
Cpds playing in the moss and saying hI to me.

Cory in the opposite corner of the beach.

Buenos Aires Tetra Trio: 2 on the left are Darren & Darron and the bigger one on the right is Gluttony.

All species of fish in the tank in 1 shot.

Hopefully I'll have more time this week and get better focus photos. More photos will come in the coming days.

They probably feel safer on the darker substrate for now, put their food on the sand & they'll soon be on it it.
Btw the cory in the pic looks like a female full of eggs, if you have males in there as well then I wouldn't be surprised if you see eggs soon.

I actually had eggs twice. 1st was a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately it ended failure. 2nd time happened a day before the upgrade. So far it's looking grim. Only see one that may hatch...

1 Cory finally goes to the sand! Seeing the space I'm probably going to move the marimo ball to the Eco complete and open up a little space.

Personally the most boring of my bunch, the Red Eye Tetra Trio. Although they are a little more active after the upgrade. (Just a little)

One eating.

IMGP9602ss.jpg

Good news, finally saw a Cory digging in the sand. Now the sand looks nice and flat.

Bad news, almost had near disaster. Heard a noise underneath the tank, checked, the outtake tube of the canister came off. Thank god it happened when I was there. The only casualty might be the rug later down the road. Fortunately it's the winter and its dry and the heater is on.

A new resident the red cherry shrimp. I have another that was a little more smaller and transparent, but can't find it. Might've gotten eaten.

I like your little seal

Lol thanks. It's the oldest resident of the tank. Roughly 10 years chilling in my previous 25g.

Found some Cory eggs. Moved them into a small container w/ an airstone and minI heater treated w/ methylene blue. This'll be my 3rd attempt. (1st 2 failed.) Here we go!

Found my other rcs. (The red thing in the moss.) Got a little more red compared to yesterday.

Update: Hatched 1 Cory. First successful one.
In 36g bowfront: More Cory eggs. This'll be the 4th round in the past month and half. My lone male Cory has been very busy. Moved some into a breeders net, but from the photos, they're everywhere. They really went at it this time.

Thanks though 2 issues. 1. Will they hatch? So far I've only been able hatch 1 egg. 2. Space-running out of space even put eggs. If more hatch, have to find something. Only have a small hex tank that I can use.

they might, if they start turning darker over a 3 day period they will likely hatch, if they stay white they won't hatch. in about 3-5 days theyll pop out. you should keep the water absolutely pristine at this time. If eggs stay white remove them otherwise they will quickly allow fungus to spread.

Yeah that basically happened in my first 2 attempts. Going to try to set up a larger container with a pm airstone and heater.

echi1 Thank you! BGKFan Yes its tiny, though I think it got a little bigger. Hard to tell since mostly hides under the minI heater.

Some of the eggs from my 4th round hatched while I was doing the wc and taking out the eggs that turned white.

Ohhh, Congratulations. They are so teeny tiny but I still saw them in your video. Very neat. How can you tell the difference of male and female cory fish?

Females are much larger with rounder bellies

My 5 cory fish came from two different stores at different times. I'll have to really look at mine now and see if I can tell/see the rounder bellies from not seeing one. Thanks for the tips.

Thank you sunnycal. My male is a smaller. Confirmed it was male for sure when I had him in a hostpital tank for a month and after he returned to the main tank, eggs started appearing.

Initial count: 18 hatched in plastic medium sized container and 3 in the breeder's net. Including the 1 that hatched from my 3rd round, I have 22 cory babies.

Pending that they all grow up, I'll have an issue of too many cories. 2 will go into the main tank while the rest is up in the air. Might start asking some of the LFS and see if they'll take them in once they grow up.

Question for the cory experts: How fast do they grow? I'd like to move my 1st hatch eventually to the bigger container along with the rest of the group.

I'm not sure on how fast they grow, but I hope they all make it to adult hood! Good luck!

I'm no expert but can only tell you about how mine have grown. I have 5 but two of them were pretty small. Actually, I thought they were tiny for I was first worried about them getting stuck to my filter intake tube. They were definitely under an inch and skinny little guys/gals. Now they are an inch or more and filled out throughout their body. This all happened in a short 2 months or so. At first they were kind of hard to find in all my plants but not any more. I'm assuming your babies will grow rapidly with proper food, water changes, and lots of room in tank, as in not being overstocked.

Updates on Tank (Pics will come sometime this weekend):
Lost some of my baby cories. Last head count, have 15 total (6 in a breeder's net and 9 in a medium sized plastic container)

Added Italian Vals couple weeks ago when I added the MTS and RCS. Lost 1 of the MTS. Might've lost my larger RCS since I haven't seen it in awhile.

Propagated my wisteria and sprite as the original stems was dying. However they have been devoured and pretty much lost most of it (Have 1 wisteria stem possibly alive and the lone sprite survivor floating in the breeder's net with the baby cories)

Assuming culprit of my plant killers are the BA tetras and the Ramshorn snails. The tetras have gone after the plants if they feel like I haven't fed enough. Recently have seen the snails going all over the plants that have been eaten and seems like they've gotten rather more carnivorous after I started to try limiting the food.

Seriously considering getting Assassin Snails to control the ramshorn outbreak since I have no space for loaches.

1st pic is what's left of one of the wisteria that I propagated.

ImageUploadedByFish Lore Aquarium Fish Forum1426977600.865221.jpg

In an attempt to control ramshorn snail population, added 2 assassin snails. One is already doing its job.

ImageUploadedByFish Lore Aquarium Fish Forum1426977734.528347.jpg

Also added a new sprite. Putting over in the sand where my ba tetras ( my other plant eating culprit) don't go too much.

Hey Geno! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Been slammed with work and school.

The tank looks awesome I'm glad it worked out and hopefully it is still doing great. You did an awesome job on it and I must say, I'm a little jealous of it! Keep up the great work.

Also, I may be interested in buying a few cories from you if you are still overcrowded. Send me a PM if you still have some to get rid of.

So was cleaning the inside of my canister filter for the first time and discovered a group of rcs living at the very button. (Realized when 1 went down the drain when I was lurking the dirty water out.) Was surprised they were all alive in the the gunk water in the filter for who knows how long. Didn't know rcs were tough.
