I'm starting up a 35 gallon hex freshwater tank. I bought a marineland penguin 350 for a filter, but once I git home I realized it wouldnt fit on tge tank. Ill just keep it for another tank. I'm looking for so suggestions for a good filter for a hex tank.

What budget are we looking at? Would you be willing to get a canister?

I'd rather only spend around 50 bucks

I actually had my eye on that earlier, but went with the penguin bc I was trying to get more filtration. Thanks

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that AquaClear makes the best HOB filter.

Aquaclear is a great HOB filter. Plus its customizable. I have an Aquaclear 50 on my 29 tall. It is doing an amazing job. Little tip. Don't bother with carbon. Get another filter sponge for it in its place. I run 2 sponges plus the bio rings it cane with. I also use a predicted sponge on the water intake because I'm nuts about overfiltration. My water is crystal clear.

I hate auto correct. I use a pre-filter sponge in the intake.
